Week 6 (April 5)
Shining Stars,
A stunning day at the park. The most wonderful, beautiful people. You can’t beat it.
The Martini’s came down to the wire against La Bocce Vita. The truth is, the best player on the court was 97 year-old Mike Martini. Crushed it to secure the victory. And with a whopper smile on his fantastic face.
Italian sensation Vito’s High Rollers put the pedal down 10-2 against the formidable Patriots. Ira Rosh looked and played snappy.
Bocce Buddies snuck out a cliff hanger against The Mob, 10-9.
Mark Waldrep gets “Player of the Day” nods with clutch, difficult final shot to win the game! And he’s the greatest guy!
Neal Sullivan had a gutsy 5-pointer to take down I Sette, 10-2.
Jon Tower is a world-class Palisadian.
With Mary under the weather, Ira Meisler led The Spring Chickens to victory. (He was wearing his yellow and blue for Ukraine!) Roy and Phyllis Vego were a one-two punch - and they’re adorable! Stan Blaustein was strutting his cool bocce stuff.
Vinos fell on the last frame to Friends & Neighbors in a classic. Cindy Seiler, one of the sweet peas of the league, stepped up to the line and rolled a stunning 2-pointer to end the great match.
It’s hard to believe we just have one more week before the playoffs! So many teams still with playoff possibilities!
Time flies when you’re having fun.
My favorite part of the matches is watching both teams shake hands and hug.
That’s what makes this league so wonderful. So special.
Lucky us to share these days with each other.
Yours,
— Jimmy
