Bocce Matches at Douglas Park
Dearest Dolphins,
No matter what, we’re going to find ways to bring us all together. Wherever, however that is.
For the upcoming weeks, we’ve made an arrangement with Douglas Park in Santa Monica to be a temporary home for our bocce family!
Douglas Park Lawn Bowling
2439 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90403
(Wilshire and 24th Street)
Starting this Tuesday (tomorrow), come on by any time between 10 AM till 1 PM. We’re setting up bocce courts on their lawn bowling lawns. It will be fabulous.
Our fantastic Bocce Professional, Brennan Cassidy, we help set up teams and ref the matches. It will be lots of fun.
It’s our home for bocce every Tuesday at these times—for the meantime. Over the upcoming weeks, we’ll be discovering when we’ll be able to get back to our home courts at Veterans Gardens.
No matter what, we’re going to figure out a plan to have Spring Leagues (starting in March) and a Summer/Fall League (starting this summer)—playing at a wonderful place.
I can’t wait to give you all big hugs.

Here’s a link to a great match of “Punto, Raffa, Volo.” The “call your shots” version of bocce; it’s the game played extensively in Europe. Jose Botto, in the blue, is the best American player in the past 50 years. This is a semi-final match between Canada and USA.
Fun to see how and when they “raffa.”
